Sub-series consists of by-laws and attachments in multiple formats. Larger by-laws are bound individually into volumes.

Records consist of selected by-laws and related documents created during Metro’s existence. By-laws are kept in various formats including volumes, folders, binders and notebooks.

Subseries consists of press releases issued by the office of Mayor Stephen Juba and related documentation, including correspondence and proclamations (1956-1970). Not all of the press releases are final or official copies. A number of them are unsigned. Some draft copies and miscellaneous records on file.

The Mayor’s Office issued press releases as a means of distributing information to the media and the public. Press releases record announcements and statements on a range of topics, such as special occasions, current events, and city projects.

Forms part of Series 2, Fonds 1: Subseries consists of Voters Lists or Lists of Electors which were compiled for each civic election and used to determine eligibility to vote. Lists were compiled using assessment information. Lists are arranged by ward and poll and offer limited information such as the names of all those eligible to vote. In certain years, the occupation of each eligible voter is also recorded.

Sub-series consists of by-laws bound into volumes, with each volume containing between 170 and 370 by-laws. Supporting documents referenced in by-laws are tucked into the pages throughout the volume.

Records consist of an incomplete set of by-laws organized in reverse numerical order. Missing from the series are volumes for by-laws 1-175, 1230-1500, and 1751-1928.

Forms part of Fonds 14. Subseries consists of correspondence, reports, memos, photographs and various records generated or received by various entities. Files are organized by topic.

Forms part of Series 1. Subseries consists of Health Department Reports submitted to the Committee on Public Health and Welfare. Reports are present for every year with the exception of 1932, for which there are no surviving reports. Annual reports appear for every year except 1939-1947, however complete monthly reports are present for that entire period, and beyond. A monthly periodical, Bulletin, was issued by the Department of Public Health beginning in August, 1911 and continued until at least 1921; copies are present 1911-1918. Photographs are plentiful in the volumes for 1908-1926. Special Reports reflect the health concerns of the time, and include research which was compiled to address health and welfare issues. Subseries consists of minutes of the Standing Committees of the Public Parks Board for the City of Winnipeg: the Finance Committee, Boulevards and Tree Committee, Parks Committee, Cemetery Committee, Recreation Committee and Golf Committee. It also contains Special or sub-committee minutes which addressed specific issues.

Subseries consists of Communications packfiles of the Committee on Public Utilities, as well as Communications records of the Committee on Utilities and Personnel which was formed in 1960 to perform the combined functions of the then former Committees on Public Utilities and Personnel and Legislation. Communications files contain letters sent and received, blueprints, and reports relating to city utilities and local improvements.

Forms part of Series 179. Series consists of the communications packfiles of the Committee on Public Safety. Records include letters sent and received, plans, photographs, petitions, reports, printed copies of by-laws, and reports on transit routes.

Forms part of Series 11, Fonds 1. Subseries consists of minutes, communications, reports, speeches, incorporation papers, blueprints for a demonstration home, photographs of the demonstration home, and requests for information from citizens interested in city built homes. The records were created or received by Alderman R. A. Sara in his capacity as Secretary-Treasurer of the Winnipeg Housing Company Limited, a company created by the City to facilitate construction of low cost housing. The records are in chronological order (requests for information from citizens are in alphabetical order).

Forms part of Series 11, Fonds 1. Subseries consists of minutes, correspondence, reports on housing availability and costs for emergency housing, transcripts of public meetings and a copy of the final report of the Fact Finding Board. The records are in chronological order.

Series consists of the communications packfiles of the Committee on Legislation and Reception, and Committee on Personnel and Legislation, as the Committee was later named. Records include letters sent and received by the Committees, reports of committees, files on royal visits, copies of telegrams, petitions about adult suffrage, nominations for Employees' representative on the Employer-Employee Advisory Board.

Legislation files typically consist of correspondence with City Council and the provincial government and occasionally with the governments of other jurisdictions in Canada as well as draft copies of legislation and correspondence with members of the public.

Personnel files include staffing and salary recommendations from City departments, negotiations with unions as well as various reports on employee salaries and working conditions. These include information about specific employees as well as about general positions and job classes.

Files relating to receptions may include correspondence with visitors, invoices from suppliers, programs and menus, photographs, architectural drawings or artefacts such as buttons and ribbons.

In 1958 the duties of the Committee on Personnel and Legislation were taken over by the Committee on Finance. In 1960 the Standing Committee on Utilities and Personnel was formed by By-Law 18236 to perform the combined functions of the former Committee on Personnel and Legislation and Committee on Public Works.

Forms part of Series 11, Fonds 1. Subseries consists of correspondence, reports and architectural and site plans regarding housing availability, construction and maintenance for housing under the control of the City of Winnipeg. It also contains information on various programs of municipal, provincial and federal governments as they tried to address housing scarcity issues; for example, Wartime Housing Ltd. In later years, family and individual case histories for people seeking shelter are included in the files. The records are in chronological order.

Sub-series consists of minutes and indexes to the minutes for the Committee on Legislation and Reception, a standing committee of Council. Minutes record members present at meetings, communications received from the public, Council or other committees and action taken.

In some years the index and the minutes are in the same volume and in separate volumes for some years.

Forms part of Series 176. Subseries consists of the Minute books of the Committee on Public Utilities for the years 1921-1957, as well as the Minute books of the Committee on Utilities and Personnel for the years 1960-1971. Minute volumes include original indexes.

Subseries consists of a scrapbook assembled by the City Engineering Department to document the 1956 flood. It contains clippings from newspapers like the Winnipeg Free Press and Winnipeg Tribune. Clippings start February 25, 1956 and end May 7, 1956.

Subseries consists of architectural plans submitted to the City of Winnipeg by persons proposing to construct new buildings or renovate existing structures, all of which have since been demolished. Included are plans for such notable buildings as the Eaton's store on Portage Avenue, the Merchant's Bank on Lombard Avenue, the old Children's Hospital at Redwood and Aberdeen, as well as plans for a variety of schools, theatres, factories and odd civic structures like comfort stations (public washrooms).
