The Mayor’s Office issued press releases as a means of distributing information to the media and the public. Press releases record announcements and statements on a range of topics, such as special occasions, current events, and city projects.
Series consists of correspondence, all of which relates to personnel matters including recommendations about specific individuals, wages and classifications, employment policies such as the so-called “Slave Pact” implemented after the strike in 1919, seniority lists and related staffing policies and practices.
View Transcription. This roll of honour consists of 537 hand painted names of City of Winnipeg employees who served in the Second World War. The names are organized by the department they worked in, and stars are placed next to the names of those who died during the war. The title at the top consists of elaborate calligraphy, as well as a Union Jack flag rising out of the letters. The centre of the print showcases an image of a knight's helmet and an elaborately sheathed sword above an image of the City of Winnipeg seal. The bottom features a quote from the ancient Greek leader Pericles, which Duthie chose himself.
Consists of ca. 400 pieces of art that range from paintings to large photograph collages, to three dimensional objects. The dates likely range from 1872 to 2011. Most of the artwork is framed.
View Transcription. The roll of honour is a painted list of names of City of Winnipeg Employees who served in the First World War. The list consists of 739 names, each stating what City department they were from, and each marked with a symbol beside them to indicate whether they were taken as a prisoner of war, wounded, killed, or decorated. The list is surrounded by a border of leaves that feature the coat of arms of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta, as well as that of the City of Winnipeg in front of two flags: the Union Jack and the Canadian Red Ensign. Above the list is a painting of a battlefield scene.

The Board of Commissioners was created in 1972 and was responsible for providing leadership to all civic departments. In particular, the Board provided advice to Council on key issues; initiated administrative changes and improvements; led civic responses to crisis situations; provided mentoring to department heads; pursued federal and/or provincial funding for civic works; and coordinated service delivery. The Board was abolished in 1997.

Fire insurance plans are maps showing, by colours and symbols, detailed information about each building including structure size and shape, construction materials and detailing, number of floors and lot size. Additional information can include street widths, street numbers, property lines and such fire protection facilities as water pipes or mains, fire hydrants and fire alarm boxes. The plans show streets, churches, hotels, industrial, commercial and public buildings. The plans were originally contained in eight bound atlases. These have been disassembled to facilitate access. Specific locations are accessed through a map key.
