Roll of Honour - City of Winnipeg Employees
View Transcription. The roll of honour is a painted list of names of City of Winnipeg Employees who served in the First World War. The list consists of 739 names, each stating what City department they were from, and each marked with a symbol beside them to indicate whether they were taken as a prisoner of war, wounded, killed, or decorated. The list is surrounded by a border of leaves that feature the coat of arms of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta, as well as that of the City of Winnipeg in front of two flags: the Union Jack and the Canadian Red Ensign. Above the list is a painting of a battlefield scene.
