Donation 9: Ukrainian immigrant bicycle story

Consists of digitized documents related to the immigration of Emma Obendoerfer to Canada from the Soviet Union following World War 2, as well as the bicycle she brought with her. Includes digitized images of immigration documents and photos, and a Microsoft Word document written by the donor that tells her story. Donation courtesy of Peter Obendoerfer.

Donation 3: Critical Mass and Bike to the Future material

Consists of various material related to the organizations Critical Mass and Bike to the Future. The Bike to the Future material consists primarily of emails, meeting minutes, reports, and photographs from 2006-2007. Critical Mass material consists primarily of email, articles, photographs, and material related to the police response to Critical Mass bike rides in May, 2006. It covers a wide range of topics, including correspondence relating to the governance of the Society, the St. Norbert Provincial Park, genealogical inquiries, and requests for information regarding the history of Fort Garry.

Forms part of Fonds 27: This series contains a small amount of artwork donated to the Fort Garry History Society (FGHS) by residents of Fort Garry. This series includes artwork by Pat Wheeler, a long-standing member of the FGHS, and her mother, Gwen Highmore. This collection depicts the historical landscape of Fort Garry, including important landmarks.

Forms part of Fonds 1. Series consists of communications referred to the Special Publicity Committee between 1919 and 1920 regarding a proposed advertising campaign for the City of Winnipeg.

Council Minutes

Forms part of Fonds 2. Series includes City of Winnipeg Council Minute books dating 1874-1971, which briefly recount the happenings of council meetings and are the official, legal record of decisions made by Council. Decisions recorded involve how the city is governed, how resources are allocated, and how services are delivered to residents. Minutes also refer to topics debated, reports considered, by-laws introduced, communications received, decisions reached and votes taken during council meetings. Council minutes are a rich and detailed source of information about the history of the City of Winnipeg, and provide understanding of issues past and present in city politics.
