City of Winnipeg Archives Photograph collection
Collection consists of photographs and related records created by a wide variety of sources and collected by the City of Winnipeg Archives and Records Control Branch. The photographs were originally collected as part of a proposed Winnipeg museum; further records were added to the collection after being transferred from various City of Winnipeg departments or received as unsolicited donations from the public. The photographs depict municipal government activities and infrastructure, geographical features, business and personal activities. In addition to municipal governments, creators of the photographs include professional photographers, private individuals and various publishers.

A report prepared by Thomas J. Plunkett, who was the chief advisor on the amalgamation of the Greater Winnipeg Metropolitan Area. The report was created to aid Council members with organizational questions Plunkett assessed they would be confronted with. He described it as a first attempt at setting out a working model of the organizational development of the newly unified City of Winnipeg.

A survey conducted by J.D. Woods and Gordon Limited and submitted to the Special Committee on Efficiency at the request of City of Winnipeg Engineer W.D. Hurst with the purpose of comparing Winnipeg's refuse collection services to a similar survey conducted by the University of California.
The survey examines several refuse collection routes and draws conclusion about their efficiency and costs. The survey makes reference to appendices, such as the initial letter sent by Hurst, but no appendices are attached.

Programme of Competition for a new city hall

Similar to a request for proposals, this programme, titled, "Programme of Competition for the Selection of an Architect for the Erection of a New City Hall, Winnipeg, Man.", invites architects and architectural firms to bid for the contract to construct a new city hall. It contains information about design and administrative requirements, as well as funding, and includes a rough map of the new city hall's location. This iteration of a new city hall was never built and the project was scrapped.

Waghorn's Guide map and street index

Waghorn's Guide - a small promotional pamphlet published by J.R. Waghorn in 1895. The pamphlet contains a street map of Winnipeg, a street index, and advertisements for various Winnipeg businesses including the Clarendon Hotel, the Redwood Brewery, and the Massey-Harris Company. The map shows the old City of Winnipeg from the Red River on the east to Waverly, Aubrey, and McPhillips Streets on the west, and from Athole Avenue (now Luxton Avenue) in the north to Parker Avenue in the south. Southern Elmwood, Old St. Boniface, and Norwood are also shown on the east side of the river. Railway lines are in black and electric street railway lines are in red.
Program to official opening of the 1964 City Hall

A program and informational booklet detailing the ceremonial opening of the new City Hall on October 5, 1964. The booklet contains an event program, a list of officials, a message from Mayor Stephen Juba, a brief history of Winnipeg and City Hall, and details and photographs about the new City Hall’s construction. The program was Lithographed by Bulman Brothers Ltd.
