The list consists of 739 names, each stating what City department they were from, and each marked with a symbol beside them to indicate whether they were taken as a prisoner of war, wounded, killed, or decorated. The list is surrounded by a border of leaves that feature the coat of arms of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta, as well as that of the City of Winnipeg in front of two flags: the Union Jack and the Canadian Red Ensign.
