Summary of Recommendations - Metropolitan Plan for Greater Winnipeg

Item consists of 1 report (27 pages), jointly prepared by the Metropolitan Planning Committee and Winnipeg Town Planning Commission. The report provides a summary and recommendations based on a series of metropolitan planning studies conducted between 1944 and 1949. Part of the Metropolitan Plan for Greater Winnipeg master plan reports.

Organizational Development of the City of Winnipeg

A report prepared by Thomas J. Plunkett, who was the chief advisor on the amalgamation of the Greater Winnipeg Metropolitan Area. The report was created to aid Council members with organizational questions Plunkett assessed they would be confronted with. He described it as a first attempt at setting out a working model of the organizational development of the newly unified City of Winnipeg.

The Status of Women in the Civic Service / City of Winnipeg

Item consists of 1 report (42 pages) that outlines the findings of the committee on the status of women in the employ of the City of Winnipeg. The committee was appointed by the Board of Commissioners (City of Winnipeg) and was comprised of civic employees. Merle McCullough of the City Clerk's Department served as chairperson of the committee. Item is dated April 1977.

Programme of Competition for a new city hall

Similar to a request for proposals, this programme, titled, "Programme of Competition for the Selection of an Architect for the Erection of a New City Hall, Winnipeg, Man.", invites architects and architectural firms to bid for the contract to construct a new city hall. It contains information about design and administrative requirements, as well as funding, and includes a rough map of the new city hall's location. This iteration of a new city hall was never built and the project was scrapped.

Item consists of 1 pamphlet (16 pages) with information on emergency service provided in the City of Winnipeg and the "999" call center, another first for Winnipeg. Item is dated 1968 and contains a series of reproduced photographs. On verso, it says: "LITHOGRAPHED IN CANADA BY BULMAN BROS. LIMITED, WPG."
