History

Frederick Cluett Landen was born in Hull, Yorkshire, England in 1878. He first came to Winnipeg around 1901 and took a number of photographs that he hoped would convince his fiancée, Mary Elizabeth, to move there,. In 1904, Landen and Mary Elizabeth, now his wife, moved to Winnipeg, where they lived for the rest of their lives. The Landens opened a painting and decorating business and had 2 children. Mary Elizabeth passed away in 1939, followed by her husband in 1966.
