The Abe Yanofsky fonds consists of textual records, photographs, memorabilia, and artifacts that relate to his education, his legal and political careers and his involvement in the world of chess.
The fonds consists of a small sample of records typically created and administered by an insurance company in the early years of the twentieth century. Of note are copies of the architectural plans for the company’s head office in Winnipeg, and a guest book from the November 1, 1957 Open House, complete with photographs of the facility, equipment and staff.
The records consist of minutes, by-laws, agreements and correspondence of the Tuxedo Park Company, Limited for the years 1913 through 1930. The records were contained in a scrapbook, which has been disassembled due to its poor condition. The first page of the scrapbook contains By-Law Number 116 dated July 2, 1913. This and all subsequent by-laws in the scrapbook document the purchase and transfer of ownership of land from the Company to new owners, including legal description. By-law numbers are 116 through to 153, which is dated May 2, 1928. The records are in chronological order.
The records consist of correspondence, financial records, meeting minutes, annual reports and balance sheets, and legal agreements documenting the sale of land in and around the Town of Tuxedo from 1905 to 1956.
