Series consists of two reports to Council regarding fund raising efforts and distribution of relief funds to the families of volunteers serving with the 90th Winnipeg Battalion of Rifles and the Winnipeg Field Battery during the North-West Rebellion (North-West Resistance) of 1885.

Forms part of Fonds 1. Series consists of communications and detailed reports from City Departments noting the names of all City employees, identifying in particular married women employed by the City and City employees who were not residents of the City. Winnipeg Council Minutes - Volume 1 - part 2 (1875)

Last 384 pages of bound, handwritten volume of minutes of Winnipeg's City Council between January 11 and December 25, 1875. The minutes briefly recount the proceedings of meetings and are the official, legal record of decisions made by Council. Recorded decisions reveal municipal governance, resource allocation, and service delivery. Minutes also refer to topics debated, reports considered, by-laws introduced, communications received, decisions reached and votes taken during council meetings.

Individual minute passages are marked with numbers in the margins that correspond with a hand-written index.

Herbert H. Clark of the 27th Winnipeg Battalion

Photograph postcard of Herbert H. Clark, runner and bandsman of the 27th Winnipeg Battalion during the First World War, while in hospital in 1917. This photo was enclosed in a letter Clark sent to the City regarding his wish to donate an embroidery he made of the battalion’s badge. Clark’s service information is written on the reverse.
