Forms part of Fonds 2. Series contains records that were created, received, and managed by the Community and Race Relations Committee and its predecessors during their operations. Common record types in this series include correspondence, reports, copy of minutes, press releases, and case files.

The Board of Commissioners was created in 1972 and was responsible for providing leadership to all civic departments. In particular, the Board provided advice to Council on key issues; initiated administrative changes and improvements; led civic responses to crisis situations; provided mentoring to department heads; pursued federal and/or provincial funding for civic works; and coordinated service delivery. The Board was abolished in 1997.

The records have been organized into two series:

Series 132: Reports, Speeches, Pamphlets, 1977-1991
Series 133: Bound Correspondence, 1989-1997

Collection consists of photographs and related records created by a wide variety of sources and collected by the City of Winnipeg Archives and Records Control Branch. The photographs were originally collected as part of a proposed Winnipeg museum; further records were added to the collection after being transferred from various City of Winnipeg departments or received as unsolicited donations from the public. The photographs depict municipal government activities and infrastructure, geographical features, business and personal activities. In addition to municipal governments, creators of the photographs include professional photographers, private individuals and various publishers.

Forms part of Collection 9: Series consists of 21 bound volumes of correspondence created or received by Chief Commissioner Richard Frost during his tenure with the Board of Commissioners of the City of Winnipeg. The correspondence is in chronological order.

The correspondence documents the leadership role of the Board of Commissioners and contains advice to Council on key issues; proposed and initiated administrative changes and improvements; crisis management; executive mentorship; fiscal management; coordination of service delivery; financial performance; professional development; capital project planning; city planning; flood management; and, governance issues.

Subseries consists of digital photographs of various homes and street scenes taken during the 1997 flood in Winnipeg, as well as relief efforts. The photographs were originally housed on three CDs.

The Abe Yanofsky fonds consists of textual records, photographs, memorabilia, and artifacts that relate to his education, his legal and political careers and his involvement in the world of chess.
