Press Release - Establishment of the Citizen Centennial Committee

A press release from the office of Mayor Stephen Juba regarding the establishment of the Citizen Centennial Committee for preparing celebrations for Canada Day, including a copy of the press release, a copy of telegrams sent to Prime Minister John Diefenbaker and then President-Elect John F. Kennedy, a copy of Kennedy's response, and a copy of Mayor Juba's second invite to President Kennedy. President Kennedy did not accept the invitation to participate in Winnipeg's Canada Day festivities.

Mayoral Portraits

Subseries consists of portraits of the Mayors of Winnipeg. They are of various sizes, generally 30-50 inches by 30-50 inches. The portraits began to be painted in 1902 and were subsequently painted as each Mayor sat in office.The first 29 portraits were painted by V.A. Long. The rest were painting by various artists.
